Questions and answers
Is Fine Print Guard free?
Yes. Every feature is free. There is no account, no paid plan and nothing to unlock.
What does it block?
Ads and trackers from nearly 1,000 known ad, analytics and data-broker domains, pop-up and pop-under windows, newsletter and app-install boxes that cover the page, sticky banners, floating videos, and "turn off your ad blocker" walls.
Does it accept cookies for me?
No. It clicks Reject all or switches optional categories off. It has no code that clicks Accept.
What does the A to F grade mean?
It's a grade for the site's terms of service and privacy policy. A means fair terms. F means serious problems, like selling your data, taking rights to your posts, training AI on what you type or forced arbitration.
Is the grade legal advice?
No. It's automatic, flags wording it recognises and can miss things. That's why every finding links to the real sentence.
Does it send my browsing anywhere?
No. Pages are read on your computer and there is no Fine Print Guard server. The only thing sent is anonymous usage stats, never which sites you visit, and you can turn them off in Settings.
A site looks broken. What do I do?
Click the icon and choose Pause blocking here. Blocking stays on everywhere else.
Will it break sign-in pages?
No. Google, Microsoft and other sign-in pages are left alone, and windows you open on purpose, like sign-ins and card checks, still work.
Does it slow down Chrome?
Blocking uses Chrome's own built-in blocking system, which is fast, and blocked ads and trackers mean less for each page to load.
Can my school use it?
Yes. School IT can allow or force-install it from the Google Admin console like any Chrome extension.
How do I remove it?
Right-click its icon and choose Remove from Chrome.
